Sample Projects

The Provident Group personnel have successfully completed more than 4,500 environmental projects. Projects involving clean-up and disposal of hazardous materials, confined space, occupational toxicology, health and safety, industrial hygiene, personal protection, and respiratory protection include the following:

• Conducted extensive industrial hygiene surveys for major oil companies. These surveys were comprehensive in nature and involved air sampling and noise evaluations.
• A confined space evaluation was conducted for a major laboratory. Several hundred potential confined spaces were inspected and TPG assisted the company in writing a confined space program and categorizing each location.

• Conducted a ventilation system evaluation and redesign for a major chemical corporation.
• Since the Texas Department of Health Indoor Air Quality Guidelines went into effect in 1998, TPG has assisted many school districts in implementing the guidelines. Management Plans have been written and baseline evaluations have been conducted on many campuses.
• Assessed a former manufacturing facility prior to occupancy. Environmental problems addressed included:
  - A historical mercury spill requiring cleanup
  - The presence of asbestos containing materials
  - Equipment contaminated with various chemicals
  - Presence of lead-based paint
  - Piping with residual hazardous contents
  TPG inspected the facility, collected and analyzed samples, prepared the project Health & Safety Plan and managed the removal and disposal of the wastes.
• TPG conducted a major site assessment of over 400 properties for a major international airport as part of the due dillegence requirements prior to acquisition of the properties by the airport as part of runway expansion. The project included removal and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Conducted site assessments of commercial facilities throughout the United States for a major insurance company. The assessed property included manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, raw land, commercial buildings, and industrial developments.
• TPG has provided mold evaluation services for the claims departments of all major insurance companies all over the United States. Since January of 2001, over 4,000 residences have been evaluated for mold contamination associated with water damage. Evaluations were conducted, remediation specifications written, and clearance letters for re-occupancy were issued following post remediation sampling.
• TPG personnel have provided other services, including asbestos consulting, hazardous materials removal and disposal, underground storage tank, indoor air quality and Phase 1 and 2 site assessments for the school districts, banking corporations, international airports, major food chains, major municipalities, and other government agencies.
